On Tuesday 26th September 2017, the DERMA (Design of Enabling Regenerative MAterials) team made the journey to Ghent for Stakeholder and Industrial Matchmaking events.
The events hosted approximately 130 attendees and were held as part of the Advanced Materials for Biomedical Applications Conference 2017. This conference was to celebrate 10 years of polymeric biomaterial research in the Polymer Chemistry and Biomaterials Research Group at Ghent University. The organisers of the event, the Polymer Chemistry and Biomaterials Group, are partners on DERMA.
Principle investigator, Dr Iain Allan from the University of Brighton was invited to give a presentation about novel materials for the management of chronic dermal wounds. Dr Cressida Bowyer from the University of Portsmouth presented a poster entitled “DERMA – Wound Care by Design: Computer Animations for Public Engagement” and Dr Arn Mignon presented a poster entitled “Novel PEG based hydrogel building blocks for wound healing”.
Also at the event, Eurasante (DERMA project partners) hostedan industrial matchmaking event. This was followed by a DERMA boat trip to see the sights of Ghent.
The conference was a great success and we would like to thank everyone involved.
