Our CCi Student Led Transdiciplinary Community of Learners

What is Innovolvement?

The group seeks to encourage collaboration across the University between students and academics of all levels and is a great place to make new friends.

Led by Charlie Iceton, and this year’s other placement students Edward Draper, Natalie Poole and Jaelithe Swan, events encourage open discussions as well as offering activities, guest speakers, and chances to get involved with projects and activity days.

Innovolvement began in September 2015 when Associate Dean of Enterprise and Innovation (E&I) Professor Joan Farrer tasked E&I Ambassadors,  Georgia Tolley and Joshua Herbert, to create an environment that promoted transdisciplinary engagement for students and staff alike. The inspiration for the group stemmed from the BRIDGE Club, which Professor Farrer fronted at the University of Brighton. This was an open forum for transdisciplinary discussions, knowledge exchange, collaboration and project development and delivery.

Innovolvement is an exciting opportunity to network with a range of people from a variety of courses, as well as a chance to influence and shape projects developing at the University of Portsmouth.
